PENGEMBANGAN BUDAYA LITERASI MELALUI PEMBERDAYAAN PERPUSTAKAAN SEKOLAH DI SDK BAVO MADIUN

Abstract


The library is one of the facilities provided at the school. With the existence of a library that provides various books of course can be used as a reference by the school community, so that the library can function as a source of information that plays an important role in increasing one's intelligence. To spread information, of course libraries have an important role in this matter because in the library there are many collections of books that have a variety of information that can be used by users. Libraries can also play a role in creating a literary society, namely people who are literate in information. Regarding the use of school libraries, there are several problems that often occur, namely the lack of interest of students to read, not the creation of a reading climate in schools so that the existence of the library becomes invisible. In addition, the availability of books in the school library also tends to be a collection of old books, so students feel lazy to read books in the library. Therefore, for a literacy culture for students of Bavo Madiun SDK, assistance is needed. Mentoring was carried out in three meetings. The first meeting focused on library management, the second meeting cultivated literacy, and at the third meeting students attached the work on the board that had been made. This activity was able to increase students' interest in reading and writing stories.
