ANALISIS PERBEDAAN WAKTU PROSES MENCETAK ARANG BRIKET SECARA MANUAL DAN MENGGUNAKAN MESIN
Abstract
The development of technology in production processes makes producers change the manual production processes into semi-automatic or automatic processes. The replacement of production processes is intended to increase production capacity, so that producers can meet the demand of market. Producers try to always produce goods or services that can satisfy consumers with the effectiveness of production processes.
The reseacher’s previous machine design shows a result that to produce charcoal briquette, producers should follow five steps or activities either manually or mechanically. Besides, normal time and standard time of producing charcoal briquette mechanically is more effective than that of producing it manually. The normal time calculated on the basis of average time of all elements does not reveal average distinction of each element. Though the result of research indicates that there are differences of effectiveness between the mechanical and manual processes, to support the statement requires further analysis on the time difference of the mechanical and manual processes for each element of the activities. It is done to know which element of activities supports effectiveness of machine.
The analysis and discussion conclude that in the process of making charcoal briquette manually and mechanically, there are two elements of activities which are not different on average, namely activities 1 and 5 and three are three elements of activities which are different, namely elements of activities 2, 3, and 4.
